How does the in-surgery laser ZOOM teeth whitening work?
In short, ZOOM works using a technique that combines advanced light technology and chemical activation. We understand the ins and outs of this treatment and perform it daily, so you are in safe hands. The entire process will last just over an hour and involves three stages. The first of these is to ensure that the gums are protected, using a protective coating. After this, the whitening gel is applied and finally we activate this gel by using the ZOOM lamp for ten minutes. We complete this cycle three times in one session; the procedure is non-invasive and totally painless.
Once the procedure is complete, you will be shown the results immediately using before and after photos (digital enamel analysis). The treatment is very effective and usually improves tooth colour by up to eight shades.

Before beginning treatment, we will take impressions of your teeth. These will work as templates for your custom-made super-fit whitening trays. What is professional Zoom home whitening?
We can offer you the convenience of whitening your teeth at your leisure. At home or even in the office, you still achieve professional results. The process is very simple; we take impressions of your teeth and then construct individual Super-fit ‘Perfect Trays’. Since they are tailor made for you, these trays fit exquisitely and do not cause any discomfort. Once these have been made, we will advise you on the proper application of the gel. You need to wear these trays for two half hour periods, each day for a fortnight.
How long will my teeth stay white?
Your teeth will always be a lighter shade than before your teeth whitening treatment. Your teeth may need touching up once or twice a year to maintain the results that the procedure will give you.
Is it dangerous?
No! Major accredited research bodies have concluded that when properly monitored by a dentist, the use of hydrogen peroxide is safe.
Are there any side effects?
Occasionally, patients can experience heightened sensitivity in their teeth when being treated. This is nothing to worry about and subsides within one to two days. If symptoms persist, please get in touch with us straight away.
