Dr Crombie is an experienced consultant anaesthetist, working at Birmingham’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital. He specialises in complex head and neck surgery, as well as major trauma.
Dr Crombie qualified as an anaesthetist at Nottingham University Medical School, before moving to the West Midlands for further training. He gained a Fellowship in Immediate Medical Care of the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh) as well as a Fellowship of the Royal College of Anaesthetists. Dr Crombie was previously the medical director of Midlands Air Ambulance, a position he held for six years. Dr Crombie also has extensive experience as an air ambulance doctor. He is currently heavily involved in pre-hospital medicine research, looking into how sedation is used during early medical intervention and through this work has a lot of sedation outside of hospital settings.
