Teeth in a Day

Tooth loss, whether caused by decay, accident or infection is never pleasant and missing gaps can often lead to eating and speech problems if left unfilled. The functionality of your mouth isn't the only thing damaged, as the loss of a beautiful smile can often have an even greater negative affect on a person's self-esteem.

Before, the only options for replacing missing teeth were dentures and traditional implants, but at Nottingham Smiles this isn't the case. With Teeth in a Day you needn't suffer the discomfort and instability of dentures or the many months of waiting needed for traditional implants.

What does the procedure involve?

Teeth in a Day condenses the appointments of traditional implants, which are often separated by months, into a 90 minute period. Four implants are placed in your mouth in optimum areas and a bridge is then attached, which holds the set of new teeth. The treatment is split into three appointments, adding up to 90 minutes, but these are spread out across the day.

  1. You will be given a sedative to help you relax and your teeth will then be gently removed (if they need doing so) and the dental implants put into place.
  2. You will then be able to go home for a few hours for lunch and a rest. At that time the dental laboratory will be making up your new teeth, customised especially for you and your mouth.
  3. You return to the clinic late afternoon to have you teeth fitted to the implants, and you can then go home and eat dinner happily and painlessly.

Is the treatment painful?

During the procedure you will feel no pain as you are given a sedative and your gums are numbed.

Will I benefit from Teeth in a Day?

If you are looking for an alternative to dentures and do not want to wait months for traditional implants, then Teeth in a Day could be the answer to your problems. It is also very easy to replace if any future problems arise from accident or injury, and although you should expect the bridge to wear after 8-10 years, it is very easy to replace.

This procedure cannot be used for everyone and those who have suffered bone loss or damage, or periodontal disease, may find other treatments more suited to their condition. A consultation with one of our resident Nottingham Smiles dentists will help to determine your suitability for Teeth in a Day treatment.
