Invisalign Teen braces are very similar to the innovative Invisalign braces, but as well as all the great features that the original models boast, the manufacturers have added some extras especially for the younger patient.

The Invisalign brand is an increasingly popular way to fix crooked teeth, correct over and under bites as well as closing any gaps. Whereas old types of metal braces were not only unsightly, but also could be uncomfortable, the Invisalign Teen braces are almost invisible and are much more comfortable, not only to wear but also to have them fitted. Treatment with Invisalign Teen is also usually much quicker than with the traditional style of braces.

The basic braces are clear, plastic aligners that need to be replaced every few weeks as the patient's teeth change position. They will not interfere with your speech and are comfortable to wear. You can even remove them to eat and brush your teeth to make sure your oral hygiene standards are maintained; something which can be difficult to achieve with fixed braces.

Invisalign Teen requirements

Teens can also remove their aligners for social occasions and special nights out, though parents should make sure that this isn't happening too often, or treatment will not work as effectively and the patient may have to wear the braces for longer than planned.

The extra features on the Invisalign Teen braces include a blue indicator, to help both the patient and the dentist decide when an aligner has to be replaced, and six replacement retainers are offered free of charge, in case any are lost or damaged. The design of Invisalign Teen braces is also slightly different, to compensate for the eruption of canines, second premolars and second molars.
