Clearstep Braces
While braces have always been a reliable way of realigning wayward teeth, two things that have continued to put people off this treatment is the time it can take to get any noticeable results and the unsightly appearance of many sets of braces.
What alternatives are there?
In addition to Clearstep braces the other popular choice over conventional braces is Invisalign. The two products are very similar, in that they each offer a swift system for realigning teeth using aligners that are changed every two weeks. A treatment plan is calculated after careful diagnosis to ensure every patient achieves the result they desire.
Furthermore, both treatments are known to have revolutionised orthodontic treatment, turning a procedure that would often last years into one that can show changes within just a few months. Clearstep is a system that has been proven to be effective and popular. But, how do they work and are there any limitations?
Clearstep
Clearstep uses multiple braces which are changed roughly every two week. This decreases the amount of time it takes for any improvement and also decreases the number of visits to the dentist. The brace is invisible once in the mouth and the only way you would know it was even there would be a slight slurring of speech which some people experience in the first few days while they get used to them.
What are the advantages?
- Removable aligners allow greater flexibility
- Easy to maintain a high level of oral hygiene
- Offer an 'invisible' method of straightening teeth
- Eating can continue as normal
- Clearstep can help with teeth that are crowded, crooked and gapped
Are there any limitations?
Though the aligners are removable it is down to you to ensure you wear each one for the recommend time of 20 hours a day. While Clearstep are very effective at straightening teeth the device is meant only for cosmetic or moderate problems. If the alignment of your teeth is too severe then you may not be suitable for treatment. If this is the case then our team will be happy to discuss alternatives with you.
